Light-sheet microscopy,
a brief overview
About the technique
Various light-sheet imaging techniques differ in the way the light-sheet is created,
however, they all face the same problematics regarding aberrations.
These techniques are typically used to do live imaging of optically inhomogenious
biological samples. A number of refractive index changes are then causing aberrations.
This impacts PSF quality, which ultimatly will decrease image contrast.
What can AO bring ?
Implement on emission pathway, increase fluorescence signal and contrast of the image
Correct the system aberrations induced by optical elements and sample mounting
Correct sample-induced aberrations and see biological structures more clearly
